At which event was Pokémon Pokopia announced?

Pokémon Pokopia was announced during a Nintendo Direct.

The announcement took place in September 2025 and introduced the game as a new Pokémon spin-off centered on building and restoring a world. Its reveal immediately distinguished it from the franchise’s usual battle-oriented releases by showing a human-shaped Ditto creating a home for Pokémon.

A Nintendo Direct is a presentation format used by Nintendo to reveal or update games and hardware. It is not the same as a Pokémon Presents broadcast, although both can feature Pokémon news. This distinction is useful because Pokémon announcements often appear in several different kinds of presentations.

The announcement happened months before the game’s March 5, 2026 release. During that period, official material described Pokopia as a slow-life or cozy sandbox experience. Later announcements added multiplayer details, downloadable content, and more information about the game’s world and systems.
