Beyoncé gave her famous 2018 headline performance at Coachella, later featured in Homecoming.
The performance took place at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on April 14 and April 21, 2018. Beyoncé had originally been scheduled to perform in 2017, but her appearance was postponed because she was pregnant with twins.
Her 2018 set made her the first Black woman to headline Coachella. The show included a large marching-band-style ensemble, a reunion with Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and songs spanning Beyoncé’s solo career and group history.
Netflix released Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé in 2019. The concert film and accompanying live album documented the performance and its preparation. Homecoming is therefore the title of the later film, while Coachella is the event at which the original headline shows occurred.
