At which Cambridge college did C.S. Lewis hold his academic chair?

The story behind the answer

C.S. Lewis held his Cambridge academic chair at Magdalene College. In 1954, he became the first holder of the Cambridge University chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature.

Before moving to Cambridge, Lewis had spent most of his academic career at Oxford, where he was a fellow and tutor at Magdalen College, Oxford. The two colleges share the name Magdalene or Magdalen in different forms, which is a frequent source of confusion.

At Cambridge, Lewis continued teaching and writing while producing books on Christianity, literature, and imagination. His appointment came relatively late in his career, after years in which his public reputation as a Christian writer had grown internationally. He remained associated with Magdalene College, Cambridge, until his retirement in 1963.
