Noah was 600 years old when the Flood began in the biblical account of Noah's Ark.

Genesis 7:6 states that Noah was six hundred years old when the waters of the Flood came upon the earth. Genesis 7:11 then gives a more detailed date, placing the beginning in Noah's six-hundredth year, in the second month and on the seventeenth day.

This age belongs to the Flood event, not to the moment when Noah first received the command to build the Ark. Genesis gives no precise construction duration, so readers should not assume that the Ark was built in one particular number of years.

The number is also distinct from Noah's total lifespan. Genesis 9:29 says Noah lived 950 years. That later figure is why 950 can be a tempting but incorrect answer to a question about Noah's age when the Flood started.
