Answer
Peloponnesian War
Answer
Peloponnesian War
Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes place during the Peloponnesian War.
The game is set in ancient Greece beginning in 431 BCE, the opening year traditionally associated with the war between Athens and Sparta. The player controls either Alexios or Kassandra, descendants of the Spartan king Leonidas I.
Players travel through a large version of the Greek world, including Attica, the Peloponnese, the Aegean islands, and parts of western Anatolia. Figures such as Pericles, Socrates, and Aspasia appear in the narrative.
The game is a historical prequel to Origins in release-era series chronology, but it does not depict the later Roman period. The Punic Wars and Gallic Wars belong to different conflicts and are not the central war of Odyssey's setting.
