Assassin's Creed III begins during which famous 1773 protest?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed III begins during the Boston Tea Party.

The opening historical sequence places the player in Boston in 1773, when colonists protested British taxation and political control by throwing tea into Boston Harbor. This event became one of the best-known incidents leading toward the American Revolutionary War.

The game later shifts from Haytham Kenway to his son, Ratonhnhaké:ton, who adopts the name Connor. Connor becomes an Assassin and participates in a story set across the American colonies during the Revolution.

The Boston Tea Party is sometimes confused with the Boston Massacre, which occurred in 1770, or with later battles such as Bunker Hill. Those events also appear in the historical background of the game, but they are not the opening protest requested here. Assassin's Creed III uses real people and events while combining them with its fictional precursor-civilization storyline.
