Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is primarily set in Rome. Released in 2010, the game follows Ezio Auditore as he confronts the Borgia family and works to rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood in the city.
Rome serves as the game's main open world and includes districts controlled by Borgia forces. Ezio can weaken that control by completing missions, destroying military resources, and recruiting new members. The city also contains important landmarks associated with Renaissance Rome, including the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Vatican area.
Brotherhood continues the story of Assassin's Creed II, but it is not chiefly set in Florence or Venice. Those cities are associated with Ezio's earlier adventures. The game also introduced a more developed Brotherhood-management system and expanded multiplayer, while its single-player campaign remained centered on Ezio's struggle in Rome.
