As of 2025, what is the latest mainline Gran Turismo game?

As of 2025, Gran Turismo 7 is the latest mainline Gran Turismo game. Polyphony Digital developed it, and Sony Interactive Entertainment published it for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2022.

Gran Turismo 7 is the eighth main installment in the series. It brought back several traditional features, including a single-player campaign, driving licenses, championships, used-car sales, tuning, and a structured progression system through GT Café menu books. It also retained online-focused features introduced in Gran Turismo Sport.

The wording “mainline” matters because the franchise also has spin-offs, prologues, concept releases, and related products. My First Gran Turismo, released in December 2024, is a free introductory title based on Gran Turismo 7 rather than a numbered mainline sequel. Gran Turismo Sport is therefore not the latest mainline game, even though it preceded Gran Turismo 7.
