Forever 21 formed a partnership with Myntra in 2015 to sell its products through the Indian online fashion retailer.
The arrangement helped Forever 21 reach Indian shoppers through Myntra’s rapidly growing digital fashion platform. It came during a pivotal year for Myntra: the company moved toward an app-only model in May 2015, with most of its traffic and purchases already coming from mobile users.
Myntra had shifted from personalized gifts to fashion and lifestyle products several years earlier. Flipkart acquired the company in 2014, but Myntra continued operating as a distinct fashion-focused brand. The Forever 21 deal therefore connected an international fast-fashion label with one of India’s most prominent online fashion specialists.
The partnership is easy to confuse with later Indian retail arrangements. In 2016, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail acquired the Indian rights to operate Forever 21, while Myntra remained associated with the brand’s online distribution. Jabong was a rival fashion platform, not the answer to this 2015 question.
