The artist who became part of Wonder Girls, 4Minute and Triple H was HyunA, also stylized as Hyuna. Born Kim Hyun-ah in Seoul in 1992, she became one of K-pop’s most recognizable performers through group work, solo releases and highly visual stage performances.
HyunA debuted with Wonder Girls in 2007, but left the group shortly afterward for health-related reasons. She later joined Cube Entertainment and debuted with 4Minute in 2009. The group became known for energetic singles such as “Hot Issue,” “Muzik” and “Crazy.”
HyunA also developed a successful solo career, beginning in 2010. Her solo hits include “Bubble Pop!,” “Ice Cream,” “Red” and “I’m Not Cool.” Her performance style helped establish her as both a rapper and a pop vocalist.
Triple H was a co-ed project formed by HyunA, Pentagon member Hui and Dawn, then known as E’Dawn. The trio debuted in 2017 and released the mini-albums 199X and Retro Futurism. HyunA’s membership in all three acts is unusual because they represent different stages of K-pop’s group, solo and project-based career paths.
