Who wrote the song "A Hard Day's Night"?
Answer
John Lennon
Answer
John Lennon
John Lennon wrote “A Hard Day’s Night,” with the song officially credited to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership. Lennon was the primary writer, while Paul McCartney contributed to parts of the song, including the middle eight.
The Beatles recorded it on April 16, 1964, at EMI Studios in London. It became the title song for the Beatles’ first feature film, A Hard Day’s Night, and was released as a single in July 1964. The track topped both the UK and US singles charts.
The title came from a Ringo Starr malapropism: after a long day of work, he accidentally described it as “a hard day’s night.” The phrase inspired the film title and then Lennon’s song. A common mix-up is crediting Ringo because he supplied the phrase, or Paul because he sings the bridge; neither wrote the song alone.
