Who wrote the season 2 premiere, "Did the Earth Move for You?"

Winifred Hervey Stallworth wrote the season 2 premiere, “Did the Earth Move for You?”

The episode opened the second season of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and aired on September 9, 1991. Its story places Will and his new girlfriend Kathleen in the middle of an earthquake, while the Banks family deals with the disruption elsewhere in Los Angeles. The disaster also exposes how little Will knows about Kathleen, turning the episode’s title into both a literal and romantic joke.

Hervey was credited as Winifred Hervey Stallworth at the time. She was more than a one-off contributor: she became an executive producer of the series during seasons 2 and 3 and helped shape its writing and production direction.

The other names can cause confusion because Benny Medina, Jeff Pollack, Andy Borowitz, and Susan Borowitz were also credited in connection with the show’s format, creation, or production. However, Hervey Stallworth is the credited writer for this particular premiere.
