Who wrote the Parks and Recreation episode Harvest Festival?

The story behind the answer

Daniel J. Goor wrote the Parks and Recreation episode “Harvest Festival.”

The episode is the seventh installment of season 3 and the 37th episode overall. It originally aired on March 17, 2011, and was directed by Dean Holland. Goor’s script brings together several storylines as Leslie Knope attempts to make Pawnee’s revived harvest festival a success.

The festival is not just a one-episode event. It concludes a seven-episode story arc that begins with the season premiere, “Go Big or Go Home.” Leslie and the parks department are under pressure because the festival’s success could determine whether the department survives Pawnee’s financial crisis.

The episode is also remembered for Li’l Sebastian, the Wamapoke curse storyline and the turning point in April and Andy’s relationship. A common mix-up is Alan Yang, who wrote “Sister City,” another notable Parks and Recreation episode. Goor later became especially well known as a co-creator of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
