Who wrote The Magic School Bus book series?

Joanna Cole wrote The Magic School Bus book series.

Cole became best known for creating the children’s science series about Ms. Frizzle and her students. The stories use imaginative field trips to explain subjects such as the human body, weather, oceans, and Earth science in an accessible format.

Bruce Degen illustrated the original series, making the bus, teacher, and classroom adventures visually distinctive. Cole and Degen’s collaboration helped combine accurate nonfiction explanations with the energy of a fantasy adventure, which made the books popular in elementary classrooms and libraries.

Cole wrote more than 250 books in total. The Magic School Bus series sold more than 93 million copies in 13 countries, according to her Wikipedia biography. The books later inspired an animated television series and the sequel series The Magic School Bus Rides Again.
