Who wrote the 2015 film Minions?

Brian Lynch wrote the 2015 film Minions.

Minions is an animated prequel and spin-off of Despicable Me that explores the yellow creatures’ long search for a villain to serve. The story begins in prehistoric times and follows Kevin, Stuart, and Bob as they travel to 1960s New York and later London, where they encounter the supervillain Scarlet Overkill.

Lynch was already connected to the franchise before writing the feature. He wrote Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, a 2012 theme-park attraction, and later wrote or co-wrote other animated projects including Puss in Boots and The Secret Life of Pets. Minions was directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, with Coffin also voicing the Minions.

A common mix-up is crediting Cinco Paul or Ken Daurio, who wrote the main Despicable Me films and other franchise entries. They are associated with the broader series, but the credited writer of the 2015 Minions screenplay is Brian Lynch.
