Answer
Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler won The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2025.
Scheffler won the 153rd Open Championship from 17 to 20 July at the Dunluce Links in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He completed four rounds in 267 strokes, 17 under par, and finished four shots ahead of Harris English.
The victory was Scheffler’s first Open title and his fourth major championship. It also gave him his third major of 2025, moving him closer to completing a career Grand Slam. He maintained a four-shot lead in the final round despite a double bogey at the eighth hole.
Royal Portrush had previously hosted The Open in 1951 and 2019, making 2025 only its third staging of the championship. Shane Lowry won the 2019 edition there, while Rory McIlroy—another Northern Irish favourite—finished tied for seventh in 2025.
