Who won the first King of Iron Fist Tournament?

The story behind the answer

Kazuya Mishima won the first King of Iron Fist Tournament.

The tournament was organized by Heihachi Mishima, who offered a huge cash prize and control of the Mishima Zaibatsu to anyone capable of defeating him. Kazuya entered to confront his father, who had thrown him from a cliff as a child to test his strength.

During the tournament, Kazuya defeated a series of powerful fighters, including Paul Phoenix and his adoptive brother Lee Chaolan. He then faced Heihachi in the final battle and emerged victorious. Kazuya took revenge by throwing Heihachi from the same mountain summit, mirroring the childhood ordeal.

The victory made Kazuya the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu and established the family conflict that drives much of Tekken’s story. Heihachi was the tournament’s host and final boss, but he was not the winner. Jin Kazama was also not involved in the first tournament; he debuted later, in Tekken 3.
