Who won the America250 Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.?

The story behind the answer

Kyle Kirkwood won the America250 Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.

The IndyCar race was held on August 23, 2026, on the 1.7-mile Washington Street Circuit. Kirkwood finished first, followed by Christian Lundgaard and Will Power, who completed the podium.

The event was created as a motorsport celebration connected with the United States Semiquincentennial. It was the fifteenth round of the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series and the first major motor race held in Washington, D.C. since the 2002 Grand Prix of Washington.

Kirkwood's victory should not be confused with the race's name or its host city. “Freedom 250” referred to the anniversary-themed event, while Washington, D.C. identified the location. Lundgaard and Power were the next two finishers, not the winner.
