Answer
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts
The original stable members of The Rolling Stones were Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts.
The band formed in London in 1962 around guitarist Brian Jones, vocalist Mick Jagger, and guitarist Keith Richards. Bill Wyman joined in December 1962, and Charlie Watts became the permanent drummer in early 1963, completing the classic early lineup.
A common mix-up is Ian Stewart, the pianist who helped found the band and played on many recordings. He was an original participant, but manager Andrew Loog Oldham moved him out of the official touring lineup in 1963. Dick Taylor and several temporary drummers also appeared during the earliest formation period.
Brian Jones led the group initially and contributed a wide range of instruments before his departure in 1969. The Jagger-Richards songwriting partnership then became the Stones’ defining creative force.
