Who was the voice of Mr. Potato Head in "Toy Story"?

Don Rickles was the voice of Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story. His famously sharp, sarcastic delivery gave the detachable toy a gruff Brooklyn-style personality that became one of the franchise’s recurring comic voices.

Rickles played Mr. Potato Head in the original Toy Story, released in 1995, and returned for Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3. The character’s removable eyes, ears, mouth, and other pieces provided visual jokes, while Rickles supplied the impatient one-liners and mock outrage. In Toy Story 2, Mr. Potato Head also meets Mrs. Potato Head, voiced by Estelle Harris.

Rickles died in 2017 before recording new dialogue for Toy Story 4. With his family’s approval, Pixar assembled the character’s performance using previously recorded material, allowing Rickles to appear posthumously.
