Who was the third co-founder of Apple alongside Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak?

The story behind the answer

Ronald Wayne was the third co-founder of Apple alongside Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

Wayne helped establish Apple Computer in April 1976 and wrote the original partnership agreement. He also designed an early Apple logo and prepared documentation for the company’s first product, the Apple I.

Wayne sold his 10 percent stake back to Jobs and Wozniak only 12 days after the partnership was formed. His decision reflected concern about personal financial liability, because partnerships could expose members to business debts.

The two remaining founders continued building Apple and later incorporated the company. Wayne’s brief involvement is often overlooked because Jobs and Wozniak became the public faces of Apple. He was not the same person as Mike Markkula, the early investor and executive who joined later.
