Who was the son of Arjuna and Subhadra?

Abhimanyu was the son of Arjuna and Subhadra in the Mahabharata.

Arjuna was one of the five Pandava brothers and the epic’s foremost archer, while Subhadra was a princess of the Vrishni clan and the sister of Krishna and Balarama. Their marriage made Abhimanyu an important link between the Pandava and Yadava families.

Abhimanyu was raised for part of his childhood in Dvaraka during the Pandavas’ exile. He became a gifted warrior and learned how to enter the Chakravyuha, a formidable battle formation. However, the epic tradition says he did not learn how to escape it because the lesson was interrupted before he was born.

He entered the formation during the Kurukshetra War and was killed while fighting the Kaurava forces. Abhimanyu’s posthumous son, Parikshit, later became crucial to the continuation of the Kuru dynasty. The other options are associated with different relationships: Shrutakarma was another son of Arjuna, Babhruvahana was linked to Chitrangada, and Ghatotkacha was Bhima’s son.
