Who was the producer for most of The Beatles' albums?

George Martin was the producer for most of The Beatles' albums. He worked with the group from their first recordings in 1962 through most of their classic studio catalogue and became widely known as the “Fifth Beatle.”

Martin brought formal musical training, arranging experience, and a willingness to experiment to the band's sessions. His partnership with engineer Geoff Emerick helped turn ideas such as orchestral overdubs, tape manipulation, unusual microphone techniques, and studio effects into defining parts of The Beatles' sound.

The wording “most” matters because Martin did not produce every Beatles album without exception. Phil Spector produced the released version of Let It Be, although Martin had worked on the earlier sessions. Martin also produced Abbey Road, the band's final album to be recorded, after the difficult Let It Be project.
