Who was the king of Sindhu killed by Arjuna?

Jayadratha was the king of Sindhu whom Arjuna killed in the Mahabharata.

Jayadratha was married to Dushala, the only sister of the Kaurava brothers, and therefore had ties to the Kuru royal family. During the Pandavas’ exile, he attempted to abduct Draupadi while her husbands were away. The Pandavas captured and humiliated him but spared his life.

Jayadratha later played a crucial role in the Kurukshetra War. On the day Abhimanyu entered the chakravyuha, Jayadratha used a boon to hold back the other four Pandavas and their allies, preventing them from supporting Arjuna’s son. Abhimanyu was then trapped and killed by several Kaurava warriors.

Arjuna vowed to kill Jayadratha before sunset the following day. Krishna helped create the appearance that sunset had arrived, prompting Jayadratha to emerge from his protection. Arjuna then killed him with an arrow. The episode explains why Jayadratha is sometimes remembered more for his role in Abhimanyu’s death than for his earlier connection to Sindhu.
