Who was the female chief engineer on Star Trek: Voyager? B’Elanna Torres was the ship’s chief engineer.

Played by Roxann Dawson, B’Elanna Torres was a half-human, half-Klingon engineer who joined Voyager after serving with the Maquis. When Voyager was stranded in the Delta Quadrant in 2371, Captain Kathryn Janeway selected Torres for the engineering post after the ship’s original chief engineer was killed.

Torres’s technical skill kept Voyager’s warp systems functioning far from Federation support. Her engineering expertise was paired with a volatile personality and an ongoing struggle to reconcile her human and Klingon identities. She later married fellow crew member Tom Paris, and the couple had a daughter, Miral.

The main confusion is with Seven of Nine, who was Voyager’s former Borg astrometrics officer, and T’Pol, who served as chief science officer on Enterprise. Jadzia Dax was a science officer on Deep Space Nine, not Voyager.
