Chick Hicks is a green stock car with the racing number 86. He competes in the Piston Cup season and is especially determined to defeat veteran champion Strip Weathers, better known as The King. When Lightning McQueen emerges as a fast new contender, Chick sees him as another obstacle in his pursuit of the championship.

Unlike McQueen, Chick is willing to use aggressive and unsportsmanlike tactics. His behavior reflects the film’s contrast between genuine competition and winning at any cost. The conflict reaches its peak in the final race, where Chick’s actions have consequences even though he technically achieves his championship goal.

Michael Keaton supplied Chick’s voice in Cars. Keaton is also known for live-action roles in films such as Batman and Birdman, but Chick’s performance is an animated supporting role built around boastful confidence and comic antagonism.
