Marc Guéhi scored Manchester City’s equalising goal in their 2–1 comeback win over Bournemouth on 23 August 2026.
Bournemouth took the lead through Marcus Tavernier at the Etihad Stadium. City then recovered late, with Guéhi scoring in the 84th minute to make the score 1–1.
Joško Gvardiol completed the comeback in stoppage time, giving Manchester City all three points. The result was Enzo Maresca’s first Premier League victory as City manager, following his appointment after Pep Guardiola’s departure.
Guéhi’s goal was notable because he had joined City’s starting lineup in a new tactical role during Maresca’s first match. The defender’s late equaliser transformed a difficult opening-day performance into a winning start, while Bournemouth were left without a point despite leading for most of the contest.
