Who released the country song "One Number Away"?

The story behind the answer

Luke Combs released the country song "One Number Away." He co-wrote it with Robert Williford, Sammy Mitchell, and Steven Battey, and recorded it for his debut studio album, This One's for You.

The song was released in January 2018 as the album's third single. Its story follows someone struggling not to call an ex-partner, giving the track its tense, regretful country-ballad mood. Sammy Mitchell produced the recording, with Steven Battey receiving a co-production credit.

"One Number Away" became an important early hit for Combs. It reached No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, giving him his third chart-topper there, and it reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. A common mix-up is confusing the song with another early Combs hit, "When It Rains It Pours," which preceded it as a single from the same album.
