Who released the 2018 album "Girl Going Nowhere"?

The story behind the answer

Ashley McBryde released the 2018 album Girl Going Nowhere.

Released on March 30, 2018, through Warner Bros. Nashville, Girl Going Nowhere was McBryde’s third studio album and her major-label debut. Producer Jay Joyce helped give the record a modern country sound that still left room for McBryde’s direct storytelling and rough-edged vocal style.

The album’s lead single, “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega,” arrived in 2017 and became a top-30 hit on both Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. The title track later became a single, reaching No. 40 on Country Airplay in 2019. Its theme draws on McBryde’s experience being discouraged by a high-school teacher who dismissed her dream of becoming a singer-songwriter.

The album was both a commercial and critical breakthrough. It debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 49 on the Billboard 200. It also earned a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Country Album, establishing McBryde as one of country music’s prominent new voices.
