Who recorded the hit single "Do You Believe In Us" in 1993?

Jon Secada recorded the hit single “Do You Believe in Us” in 1993. The song was associated with Secada’s early-1990s breakthrough and appeared in both English and Spanish-language versions.

The English recording came from Secada’s debut self-titled album, while the Spanish counterpart, “Cree en Nuestro Amor,” appeared on his Spanish-language debut album Otro Día Más Sin Verte. The song was written by Jon Secada, Joseph Stefano, and Miguel A. Morejon, and was produced by Emilio Estefan Jr., a key figure in Secada’s early career.

The English version reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. The Spanish version was especially successful on the Latin charts, reaching number one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks chart in 1993.

A common mix-up is the date: the single was released in late 1992, but its chart success and prominent 1993 activity explain why trivia references often associate it with 1993. Secada, born Juan Francisco Secada in Havana, became known for combining English-language pop with Latin musical influences.
