Who provides the voice of Altaïr in the original Assassin's Creed?

Philip Shahbaz provides the voice of Altaïr in the original Assassin's Creed.

Shahbaz voices Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, the game's historical protagonist. Altaïr is an Assassin active during the Third Crusade, and his missions form the historical layer experienced through Desmond Miles's Animus sessions. Shahbaz's performance is associated specifically with the original 2007 game.

Altaïr's character was later voiced by other performers in different projects and appearances. Michael Benyaer voiced Altaïr in the animated short film Assassin's Creed: Lineage, while Cas Anvar voiced him in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. These separate credits are a frequent source of confusion when a question does not specify the original game.

Roger Craig Smith is strongly associated with Ezio Auditore, who replaced Altaïr as the principal protagonist in Assassin's Creed II. Noah Watts voiced Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor, in Assassin's Creed III.
