Answer
Jodie Foster
Answer
Jodie Foster
Jodie Foster plays Meg Altman in David Fincher's Panic Room.
Meg is a recently divorced mother who moves with her daughter Sarah into a four-story New York City brownstone. On their first night, three burglars break in to steal bearer bonds hidden inside a specially reinforced panic room. Meg and Sarah retreat inside, turning the home's security feature into the film's central setting.
Panic Room was released in 2002 and also stars Kristen Stewart as Sarah, Forest Whitaker as Burnham, Jared Leto as Junior, and Dwight Yoakam as Raoul. The screenplay was written by David Koepp and was inspired in part by news coverage about panic rooms.
Nicole Kidman was originally cast as Meg but left after a knee injury. Foster replaced her, and the character was rewritten to be more physically capable and assertive. That casting history can cause confusion because Kidman remained associated with the role's early production, but Foster is the actor in the finished film.
