Who plays Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter films?

Helena Bonham Carter plays Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter films.

Bonham Carter first appears as Bellatrix in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The character is a fanatical Death Eater and one of Voldemort’s most devoted followers, known for her cruelty, loyalty, and distinctive theatrical manner.

Bellatrix becomes increasingly important in the later films. Her actions affect the Black and Weasley families, and she takes part in several major confrontations, including the Battle of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

The role is sometimes confused with other prominent female performances in the series, especially Maggie Smith as Minerva McGonagall and Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge. Bonham Carter’s Bellatrix is the series’ principal female Death Eater.
