Who played Warrick Brown on CSI?

The story behind the answer

Who played Warrick Brown on CSI? Gary Dourdan played Warrick Brown on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Dourdan joined the original ensemble when the series premiered on October 6, 2000. Warrick is a Las Vegas native and a level-three CSI whose chemistry background and audio-video expertise make him a valuable investigator at the Las Vegas Crime Lab.

The character’s personal story is closely tied to gambling. Warrick’s gambling addiction repeatedly threatens his career and judgment, giving the series a continuing character conflict beyond individual murder investigations. Despite those struggles, he is portrayed as a skilled forensic professional and a trusted colleague of Gil Grissom and the rest of the team.

Dourdan was a main cast member through seasons 1–8 and appeared as a guest in season 9. Warrick’s story ends early in season 9 after corrupt Undersheriff Jeffrey McKeen shoots him; he dies in Grissom’s arms. Viewers sometimes confuse Dourdan with George Eads, who played Nick Stokes, or Eric Szmanda, who played Greg Sanders.
