Answer
Tom Braidwood
Who played the recurring role of the Lone Gunman Melvin Frohike? Tom Braidwood played him. Frohike was one of the three conspiracy-focused allies who regularly helped FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on The X-Files. The other two Lone Gunmen were John Byers, played by Bruce Harwood, and Richard “Ringo” Langly, played by Dean Haglund.
Frohike was portrayed as the oldest and most experienced member of the group. He was a skilled computer hacker and the photography specialist for the trio’s investigative newsletter, The Lone Gunman. His distinctive look—leather jackets, black clothing, combat boots, fingerless gloves, and a prominent mustache—made him instantly recognizable.
The character also had a surprisingly romantic side. Although Frohike often behaved flirtatiously, his feelings for Scully were portrayed more sincerely, especially when he visited her hospital bedside in “One Breath.” A later Lone Gunmen episode revealed that he had once been a tango champion who performed under the name “El Lobo.” Braidwood reprised the role in the short-lived 2001 spin-off and later X-Files appearances.
