Who played Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films?
Answer
Ralph Fiennes
Answer
Ralph Fiennes
Ralph Fiennes played Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films.
Fiennes first portrayed Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where the character regains a physical body and openly returns to power. He continued in the role through the final films, making Voldemort the central human antagonist of the later story.
The production transformed Fiennes’ appearance with prosthetic makeup, digitally altered features and visual effects. Voldemort’s flattened nose, pale skin and slit-like nostrils were designed to reflect the character’s magical transformation and inhuman appearance.
Fiennes’ portrayal is sometimes confused with other major adult performances in the series, especially Gary Oldman’s Sirius Black or Jason Isaacs’s Lucius Malfoy. Those actors play different characters and never portray Voldemort in the films.
