The appearance is sometimes confused with Kesha’s other Billboard Music Awards moments. In 2016, she performed Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe” during a very different stage of her career. The 2018 performance, by contrast, was a joint presentation with Macklemore and centered on their own song. The awards ceremony took place in Las Vegas and featured a wide range of performances, including appearances by Janet Jackson, Ariana Grande, BTS, and Kelly Clarkson.
