Who performed "Live Forever" at the 2018 Brit Awards?

Liam Gallagher performed “Live Forever” at the 2018 Brit Awards. He delivered the Oasis song as an emotional tribute to the victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing.

Gallagher was a last-minute addition to the ceremony after Ariana Grande, who had been expected to appear, was unable to perform because of illness. Gary Barlow introduced Gallagher, who sang the song with acoustic guitar and cello before receiving a standing ovation.

“Live Forever” was originally released by Oasis in 1994 and became one of the band’s defining songs. Although Noel Gallagher wrote the song, Liam Gallagher was the band’s lead vocalist for its original recording and many live performances. The Brit Awards appearance gave the song a solemn new context.

This performance is sometimes confused with Gallagher’s earlier rendition at the 2017 One Love Manchester benefit concert, where he also performed “Live Forever,” joined by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. The 2018 Brit Awards version was a solo tribute performance.
