Who managed The Beatles from 1962 until his death in 1967?
Answer
Brian Epstein
Answer
Brian Epstein
Brian Epstein managed The Beatles from 1962 until his death in 1967.
Epstein discovered the group while they were performing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. Although he had little experience managing pop acts, he became their representative and helped secure their recording contract with Parlophone.
He presented The Beatles as polished, professional performers, encouraging them to wear matching suits and adopt more disciplined stage manners. His management was important during the group’s rapid rise in Britain and internationally.
George Martin was The Beatles’ record producer, not their manager. Derek Taylor worked as a press officer and publicist, while Mal Evans was a trusted road manager and assistant. Epstein’s death in August 1967 left the group without its central business manager during a period of major change.
