Who is the musical icon that release "In the Blue Light' in 2018?

The story behind the answer

Paul Simon released the album In the Blue Light in 2018.

In the Blue Light is Paul Simon’s fourteenth solo studio album and was released on September 7, 2018, through Legacy Recordings. Rather than presenting an entirely new set of songs, the album revisits ten lesser-known compositions from Simon’s earlier catalog. Simon substantially reworked several arrangements, harmonies, and, in some cases, lyrics, giving the songs a fresh musical setting.

The project brought together a distinctive group of collaborators. The ensemble yMusic contributed to the recordings, while guests included guitarist Bill Frisell, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, and guitarist Bryce Dessner of The National. Simon co-produced the album with longtime collaborator Roy Halee.

The title comes from a lyric in “How the Heart Approaches What It Yearns,” a song originally associated with Simon’s 1980 film and album One-Trick Pony. The wording “musical icon” points to Simon, rather than to a guest musician or producer connected with the record.
