Who is the main protagonist of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776?

The story behind the answer

The main protagonist of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is Leif. He is the deposed heir to the Republic of Munster and a cousin of Seliph, the central lord of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

Leif spends much of his childhood in hiding after the fall of Munster. Protected by Finn, he eventually grows up in the village of Fiana. When Duke Raydrik attacks the village and kidnaps Leif’s friends Nanna and Mareeta, Leif begins the campaign to reclaim Munster and liberate northern Thracia.

Leif’s role can be confused with Seliph’s because Thracia 776 occurs during the second-generation storyline of Genealogy of the Holy War. Seliph remains important to the wider Jugdral story, but Thracia 776 follows Leif’s more localized rebellion against the Grannvale Empire and the forces occupying his homeland.

Leif is also unusual among Fire Emblem protagonists because the game emphasizes difficult map conditions, fatigue, rescue mechanics, and resource management alongside his personal quest.
