Who is the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Liberation?

Aveline de Grandpré is the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Liberation.

Aveline is a French and African woman who becomes an Assassin in eighteenth-century New Orleans. The game follows her fight against Templar influence and slavery in Louisiana, while also depicting her relationships with her mentor Agaté and her childhood friend Gérald Blanc.

Liberation was first released for the PlayStation Vita in 2012 alongside Assassin’s Creed III. It later appeared on other platforms in an updated form called Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD. The story covers New Orleans, the surrounding bayou, and parts of the Gulf region.

Aveline can use three disguises: an Assassin outfit, a lady outfit, and a slave outfit. Each provides different social access and gameplay abilities. The protagonist is sometimes confused with characters from Assassin’s Creed III, but Liberation presents Aveline’s independent story.
