Who is the main antagonist and rival racer in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is the main antagonist and rival racer in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of race cars built with advanced technology, modern training, and superior performance. His rapid success makes Lightning McQueen appear outdated and forces the veteran racer to reconsider how he can remain competitive.

The character is voiced by Armie Hammer. Storm’s sleek black design contrasts with McQueen’s familiar red body, emphasizing the film’s conflict between established experience and newer methods.

Cars 3 follows McQueen’s recovery after a crash and his training with Cruz Ramirez. Although Storm is the principal on-track rival, the film’s central conflict is not simply about defeating one competitor. It is about legacy, adaptation, and deciding how an experienced racer can help shape the future of racing.
