Jackson Storm is Lightning McQueen’s high-tech rival in Pixar’s Cars 3.
Storm is a sleek, black-and-blue next-generation racer who rapidly outperforms older racers using advanced technology and data-driven training. His emergence makes McQueen question whether experience can compete with the new generation’s speed.
Armie Hammer voices Jackson Storm. The character’s racing number is 20, and he represents the shift from traditional stock-car racing toward highly optimized vehicles and simulation-based preparation. Unlike McQueen, Storm is introduced as a racer whose confidence is closely tied to measurable performance.
Storm is not the same character as Chick Hicks, McQueen’s aggressive opponent in the first Cars film, or Francesco Bernoulli, McQueen’s rival in Cars 2. Cars 3 also includes Cal Weathers, a veteran racer and relative of Strip “The King” Weathers, but Cal is not the film’s principal antagonist.
