Who is the guitarist for No Doubt?
Answer
Tom Dumont
Answer
Tom Dumont
Tom Dumont is the guitarist for No Doubt. He joined the California band in 1988 after leaving Rising, a heavy-metal group he had played in with his sister.
Dumont became an important part of No Doubt's signature sound as the band moved from its early ska roots toward alternative rock and polished pop. He played guitar alongside bassist Tony Kanal, drummer Adrian Young and singer Gwen Stefani during the group's most successful period.
After original member Eric Stefani left, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Gwen Stefani became No Doubt's primary songwriters. Dumont also contributed keyboards, synthesizer and piano, and his guitar work helped shape albums such as Tragic Kingdom, Return of Saturn and Rock Steady.
Some listeners confuse the band's guitarist with Gwen Stefani because she is its best-known member and also plays guitar occasionally. The standard answer to this question is Tom Dumont, the band's principal guitarist and longtime member.
