The first girl group created by Starship Entertainment was SISTAR. Formed in 2010, the four-member group consisted of Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou, and Dasom, and officially debuted on June 3, 2010, with the single “Push Push.”
SISTAR was Starship’s first girl group, preceding the agency’s later acts such as WJSN, IVE, and KiiiKiii. The group became especially associated with polished dance-pop and successful summer releases, including “Loving U,” “Touch My Body,” and “Shake It.” Their strong digital performance helped establish Starship as a major force in K-pop.
A common mix-up is SISTAR19, which was not a separate first group but a sub-unit featuring Bora and Hyolyn. SISTAR ended group activities in 2017 after releasing the farewell single “Lonely.”
