Kirby pursues her through the game’s stages with help from the Magical Paintbrush, which the player uses to draw rainbow paths and protective barriers on the Nintendo DS touch screen.

Near the conclusion, Kirby confronts Drawcia herself. Defeating the witch does not end the battle: she transforms into Drawcia Soul, a more powerful and fearsome final form. Kirby must overcome this second phase before Dream Land can be restored, making Drawcia Soul the game’s true final opponent rather than simply Drawcia.
