Who is the drummer of Radiohead?
Answer
Phil Selway
Answer
Phil Selway
The drummer of Radiohead is Phil Selway. Born Philip James Selway in Abingdon, England, he joined the band during its school days, when the group was still called On a Friday.
Selway has been Radiohead’s primary drummer throughout the band’s career, contributing to albums including OK Computer, Kid A, In Rainbows, and A Moon Shaped Pool. His playing is known for combining precise rock drumming with unusual rhythms and electronic percussion.
A common mix-up is confusing Selway with Radiohead’s other members: Colin Greenwood plays bass, Jonny Greenwood plays guitar and keyboards, and Ed O’Brien plays guitar and contributes backing vocals. Radiohead has sometimes used additional live percussionists, but Selway remains the band’s drummer.
Selway has also released solo albums, including Familial, Weatherhouse, and Strange Dance. Radiohead was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
