Who is the bassist of Radiohead?
Answer
Colin Greenwood
Answer
Colin Greenwood
Colin Greenwood is the bassist of Radiohead. He co-founded the band in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, with his younger brother Jonny Greenwood, Thom Yorke, Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway. Colin has remained Radiohead's bass player throughout the group's studio albums, tours and major musical shifts.
He is often confused with Jonny Greenwood because both brothers are members of Radiohead and Jonny is also a multi-instrumentalist. Jonny is best known for guitar, keyboards and experimental arrangements, while Colin's bass lines provide much of the band's rhythmic foundation. Colin has also played synthesizer and contributed backing vocals.
Radiohead began as On a Friday in the mid-1980s and adopted its better-known name before releasing the single "Creep" in 1992. Their later albums, including OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows, moved far beyond conventional alternative rock, but Greenwood's role remained central. He has also worked on outside projects and co-hosted the radio program The King of Limbs: Live from the Basement alongside fellow musicians.
