Who is Rafael Nadal's coach as of 2023?

As of 2023, Rafael Nadal’s primary coach was Carlos Moyá. The former world No. 1 joined Nadal’s coaching team ahead of the 2017 season, after Nadal’s uncle Toni had spent most of his early career as his principal coach.

Moyá was not a random appointment: he was also a fellow Mallorcan, a former French Open champion, and a player who had known Nadal since Nadal was a teenager. His coaching influence helped Nadal develop a more aggressive style, including improvements to his serve and a greater willingness to move forward.

Toni Nadal remained a major figure in the academy and Nadal’s story, while Francisco Roig and other specialists were also part of the wider team at different times. That is why several names may appear in biographies, but Carlos Moyá is the standard answer when the question asks for Nadal’s coach in 2023. ATP coverage in December 2023 specifically identified Moyá as Nadal’s coach during his comeback preparations.
